Spreading the Gospel

We thank God for those from our Island who are sharing Jesus the light of the world in the dark and needy places around the globe. Today particularly thinking of Dr. Susan Wilson in Tanzania and Jo Grimshaw in Sierra Leone. Also we remember Susan and Gary Anderson in their final period of service in Albania.

We may not be called or required to have times in our life when we have to leave family and friends as the disciples were to follow Christ Mark 10v29 or as Dr. Susan, Jo and Susan and Gary have today, but we are all called to put following Christ first. Pointing to Him as the light of the world wherever God has called us to shine for Him be that at church, at work, at school, at home or in our community.

Further Jesus promises blessing in our obedience, though sometimes costly in following Him Mark 10v30.

Let us reflect and consider this as we take forward our Covenant commitments made before God and to one another at the beginning of the year.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor John.
