Conflict in the World
This week has been one of great tragedy and sorrow caused by acts of violence perpetrated by militant Islamists. Such acts of evil are not in the will of God but as a result of the outpouring of Spiritual wickedness in high places. We pray for those grieving. We pray as in the Lord’s prayer “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done.” For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places.
No matter how deep the darkness, this darkness will not extinguish the light of the World. To this violent and broken world, Christians believe Jesus comes as the Prince of Peace. Isaiah promises “Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.”
The events of the New Year but a few weeks old, should cause us be “on our knees in prayer”, with eyes looking up to the one who comes again as the Prince of Peace to a broken and bleeding world and outworking our salvation with a life of giving and grace to others even as Dr. Susan Wilson, our speaker this morning demonstrates.
God bless,
Pastor John.
